In the summer, the number of customers wearing sandals (barefoot) style increases rapidly.
It is natural in the hot Kyoto summer.

For sanitary reasons, customers wearing sandals (bare feet) will be asked to wipe their feet before sitting down.

I will give you a “foot towel”, so please wipe your feet.
